The American Rails Forums, A Family-Friendly Railfan Community
Have you ever been interested in a place to talk and discuss with others the hobby of railfanning? Likewise are you looking for a quick answer to a railroad or railroad-related question? The American Rails forums were created basically for those very two reasons, to have fun and learn about our country’s railroads, from its history to today’s operations. Even if you do not have a serious interest in railroading the forums can be a great resource guide to find answers to any questions about trains and railroads that you may have.
Over the last several years I have been a part of a number of different railroad and railfan forums, some better than others. However, each one lacked this or that (such as poor management and/or material, which carried little, if any, worthwhile historical/informational material), which caused me to lose interest in those websites. Of course, this was purely a personal decision/feeling and I hold nothing against those websites but after putting together all of the above-mentioned elements into other websites I have had a hand in, I believe employing them into the American Rails forums will likewise be successful.
I say, “will” because the forums at this stage are very new, just recently having been started in the spring of 2007. Having said that, if you are again, a railfan or someone who studies the industry I certainly encourage and invite you to at least stop by the forums and it would be even better if you could join us. Even if, however, you perhaps need a railroad related question of some sort answered, or just would like to be part of the community, please feel free to join us! Likewise, I very much ask for any feedback, questions, and/or concerns you may have regarding the forums as it is always very much wanted in helping to improve the experience of the community.
Having said all of the above, please click on the link below to check out the American Rails forums and again, many thanks for your interest in visiting!
