O Gauge Railroading, The Magazine

O Gauge Railroading is a magazine from OGR Publishing, Inc. that specifically features and highlights O-scale model railroading. While O is not quite as popular or well known as some of the other scales out there like HO and N it still has a very devout following of modelers and if you are one of them then this magazine has about everything you’re looking for. As with about all modeling magazines in a typical O Gauge Railroading issue you can find information on the latest models/gadgets, feature articles on layouts that often times include tips & tricks, reviews of new stuff out there, and plenty more!

O Gauge Railroading is quite similar to other magazines like Garden Railways, Classic Toy Trains, and Model Railroad News in that it covers a specific part of the modeling hobby. For instance, Garden Railways is a newer magazine publication from Kalmbach Publishing. For all of you gardeners out there perhaps interested in spicing up the look of your landscaping, the addition of a railway is certainly one way to do it! Also, the magazine is good resource guide for current garden railway aficionados, helping you to improve the overall look, design, or just operation of your layout.

Classic Toy Trains magazine is another publication owned by Kalmbach Publishing. It is similar to its sister magazine, Model Railroader, except that it deals exclusively with the “classic” modeling manufacturers such as Lionel, Marx, and others. Not only does it deal with collectible models from years past but also gives reviews and advice on current toy trains still being produced.

Model Railroad News is a monthly magazine printed by LampLight Publishing, which details and highlights the latest information and news ongoing in the model railroad industry covering every possible scale you can think of. While other magazines like the very popular Model Railroader from Kalmbach Publishing and Railroad Model Craftsman from Carstens Publications, cover all bases from touching on news to modeling tips and tricks, MRN deals specifically with the latest models and gadgets on the market and gives you in-depth, expert advice and reviews on which are the best and perhaps which you may want to stay away from.
