As the Fourth of July approaches, people across the United States prepare to celebrate the country’s rich heritage and enduring spirit of freedom. In Utah, aside from the traditional fireworks, parades, and barbecues, there is another unique and charming way to celebrate Independence Day: by embarking on a scenic train ride.

In addition, you can can enjoy live music while food and snacks are available in the concession car. As the train travels along the tracks, riders can soak in panoramic views of lush green pastures, the serene Deer Creek Reservoir, and the impressive Provo Canyon.
More About The Railroad
Established in 1899, the original line was constructed by the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad to provide a critical link through the Wasatch Mountains and support the area's burgeoning industries.
Operating from the town of Heber City, about 45 minutes southeast of Salt Lake City, this historic railroad now serves as a popular tourist attraction, drawing train enthusiasts, families, and history buffs alike. Spanning approximately 16 miles, the journey takes passengers along the shores of Deer Creek Reservoir and into the breathtaking Provo Canyon, eventually reaching the gateway to the Uinta National Forest.
