These particulare excursions are designed to capture the spirit of the Wild West. From vintage steam and diesel locomotives to meticulously restored passenger cars, every detail is considered to ensure an authentic experience. The sound of the train’s whistle, the feel of the wooden seats, and the sight of the sprawling Indiana landscapes through the windows evoke a sense of nostalgia and adventure.

Notable Wild West Train Experiences

Nickel Plate Express

The Nickel Plate Express is currently the only location in Indiana hosting a Wild West themed train ride. The express provides a blend of history and entertainment on its railway journeys, making it a delightful experience for visitors of all ages.

This excursion is somewhat unique by offering two different Wild West events; the "High West Wild West Express" and the standar "Wild West Express." The former is an event offered to adults at least 21 years of age with alcoholic beverages available and a barbeque meal provided from City Barbeque. The excursion lasts about 2 hours.

The "Wild West Express" is tailored to the entire family and lasts about 90 minutes, featuring "bandits" who attempt to "rob" the train. Snacks and non-alcoholic beverages are available for everyone!
