Mount Hood Railroad Dining (2026): Not a Plated Dinner Train This Season

The Mount Hood Railroad out of Hood River is a Columbia Gorge scenic short line: orchards, a remaining switchback, and views of Mount Hood when the weather cooperates. For 2026 the railroad is not marketing a plated dinner train. The public calendar is Spring, Summer, and Fall scenic trains plus the licensed Polar Express. Food on those scenic products is sandwiches you pre-order, depot snacks, and a Fruit Company layover—not a multi-course meal at your table. Confirm on mthoodrr.com before you plan a dinner around this railroad.

About the Mount Hood Railroad
Trains leave 110 Railroad Avenue, Hood River, Oregon. The line climbs the Hood River Valley toward Parkdale on former Mount Hood Railroad / Union Pacific fruit-country track. Local preservation took over after the Class I moved to abandon. The 2026 scenic guide—classes, layover, switchback—is Mount Hood Railroad 2026.
Older tour-operator pages still describe Pullman-table dinner trains and Sunday brunch with champagne. Those are not on the railroad’s current 2026 ride list. Murder-mystery dinner was a past special-event format; it is not a 2026 dated product on mthoodrr.com as of this revision.

What to do instead
Ride the scenic train for the gorge and Fruit Loop, then eat in downtown Hood River before or after. Parlor and premium classes have table seating and light service—that is not a dinner train. Polar Express at Mount Hood stays on the Polar pages.
