OmniTRAX Selected To Serve Arm & Hammer Facility In Wyoming

Published: March 20, 2026

By: Adam Burns

New switching agreement expands company’s growing footprint in Green River

OmniTRAX has announced a new long-term rail switching agreement to serve a major industrial customer in southwestern Wyoming, further strengthening its presence in one of North America’s most important mineral production regions.

According to the company’s recent press release, OmniTRAX will provide dedicated rail service for Church & Dwight Co.’s Arm & Hammer baking soda production facility in Green River, Wyoming.

The plant, originally constructed in 1968, produces pharmaceutical-grade sodium bicarbonate—commonly known as baking soda—directly at the source of its raw material. The facility is situated atop vast trona ore deposits, with Wyoming accounting for approximately 90% of the world’s known reserves of the mineral.

Under the agreement, OmniTRAX will provide around-the-clock switching service to support the facility’s continuous operations. While financial terms were not disclosed, the contract represents a significant addition to the company’s expanding industrial rail portfolio in the region.

“Arm & Hammer is an iconic American brand and OmniTRAX is proud to provide the safe and reliable rail service to keep Church and Dwight’s Green River facility moving smoothly,” said OmniTRAX CEO Colby Tanner in a statement.

The deal also marks OmniTRAX’s third new operation in Green River within the past year, underscoring the region’s growing importance as a hub for soda ash and related mineral production.

Strategic Importance Of Green River Operations

Green River has emerged as a focal point for industrial rail development, largely due to its proximity to extensive trona deposits. Trona, a naturally occurring sodium carbonate compound, is processed into soda ash and sodium bicarbonate—materials used in everything from glass manufacturing and detergents to food production and pharmaceuticals.

Church & Dwight, the parent company of the Arm & Hammer brand, is the largest baking soda producer in the United States, with products serving a wide range of consumer and industrial applications.

OmniTRAX’s growing list of customers in the region—including recent agreements with other soda ash producers—highlights the increasing role of short line and terminal railroads in supporting heavy industry supply chains.

OmniTRAX: Expanding A National Rail Network

Headquartered in Denver, Colorado, OmniTRAX is one of North America’s largest privately held infrastructure and transportation companies. The firm operates an extensive network of short line railroads, industrial switching operations, and transloading facilities across the United States and Canada.

As an affiliate of The Broe Group, OmniTRAX manages more than 30 railroads serving ports, industrial parks, and manufacturing centers nationwide.

Its business model combines rail operations with industrial real estate development, allowing the company to provide integrated logistics solutions tailored to large-scale shippers. This includes rail service, site development, and supply chain optimization for industries ranging from energy and mining to agriculture and manufacturing.

In recent years, OmniTRAX has placed particular emphasis on expanding its footprint in resource-rich regions such as Wyoming, where rail plays a critical role in moving bulk commodities to domestic and international markets.

Continued Growth In Industrial Rail Service

The addition of Arm & Hammer’s Green River facility further solidifies OmniTRAX’s position as a key logistics partner in the soda ash and chemical production sectors. With multiple new agreements secured in the region over the past year, the company appears poised to play an increasingly central role in supporting Wyoming’s mineral economy.

As demand for soda ash and related products continues to grow globally, rail infrastructure—and the short line operators that support it—will remain essential to ensuring efficient, large-scale transportation from mine to market.
