The Naugatuck Railroad Pumpkin Patch Express leaves Thomaston for about an hour, with coach at $20 and a pumpkin included. Shore Line Trolley Museum in East Haven runs a Pumpkin Patch Trolley on nine October days, and a Haunted Trolley on a separate ticket.

September 26 and 27 at East Windsor have already run. The October Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays are still on that calendar. Confirm each museum before you book. American-Rails.com does not sell tickets. Information compiled September 29, 2026.
(East Windsor): The 2026 calendar lists the Pumpkin Patch on September 26 and 27, then Friday through Sunday from October 2 through October 31. October rides on that calendar are the patch trips. The trolley runs out to the patch at station 6A and comes back. Each child picks a free sugar pumpkin. The visit also includes decorating, a corn box, and harvest play, and the fire museum shares the campus. The station is 58 North Road, East Windsor. Phone (860) 627-6540. The calendar PDF is the date source. It does not print a separate pumpkin clock or a pumpkin fare, so those stay on the museum’s ticket page. The visitor guide still names Curse of the Rails. That night show is absent from the 2026 calendar grid. Book it only when a dated 2026 ticket is posted.
(Thomaston): The Pumpkin Patch Express is about one hour along the Naugatuck, with a stop at the railroad’s own patch. The ticket includes a pumpkin and a pumpkin ice cream from the Nutmeg Fudge Company. Coach and premium coach are $20 for adults and for children. The lounge is $40 for adults and $35 for children. Cider, soda, and snacks cost extra. Nutmeg Fudge is at the station. The operating days are on the ticket calendar. Board at Thomaston Station, 242 East Main Street. Phone (860) 283-7245. The railroad’s FAQ puts this ride at one hour and the Autumn Colors Limited at two. Chocolate Decadence and the Tequila Train are separate excursions for guests 21 and older. The line profile is the Naugatuck Railroad, and the foliage ticket is Naugatuck fall.
(East Haven): The Pumpkin Patch Trolley series is October 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 24, and 25. October 12 is the Monday holiday. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the last trolley leaves at 4:00 p.m. The ride goes to the patch, and riders take a sugar pumpkin home. Groups of 12 or more can charter. Members are 50 percent off special events. The fare is printed on each day’s ticket. The visitor center is 17 River Street, East Haven. Phone (203) 467-6927.
October weekends at the museum also include a Haunted Trolley, billed as In Search of Sasquatch, on its own ticket. The September calendar names night runs on October 2 and October 3, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Any later night is on the October calendar at shorelinetrolley.org. A separate Haunted Trolley site is still showing an Alien Invasion title and a weekend grid from another year.
(Essex): The Valley Railroad’s experiences page still offers a Tracks of Terror night show for October 2026, with a button to purchase. The railroad’s October 2026 calendar, checked September 29, lists daytime steam and riverboat trips and the Essex Clipper dinner. Tracks of Terror does not appear on that calendar through October 25, and October 26 through 31 are empty there. Buy a night ticket when the dated calendar shows the departure. An older “Train to the Pumpkin Patch” page still carries a date from a previous season. The daytime station is 1 Railroad Avenue. Phone (860) 767-0103. That daytime ride is the Connecticut scenic guide. October color on the Valley and the Naugatuck is the Connecticut fall foliage guide.
Always verify 2026 dates and prices on the railroad’s official site. American-Rails.com does not sell tickets.
